NEWSLETTER JULY 2026

WELL, HELLO THERE
SUNSHINE!

In this edition, you will read no less than three posts from the D&B Culture Club (in other words: our Staff Association), and you can rest assured that these are always fun posts. Did someone say 'Company Drinks'? From now on, you will recognize these articles very quickly by this little symbol.

Naturally, we also have a small contest again, great news from various corners of our D&B, and a few sections to keep you informed about our strategic direction.

Enjoy the summer and keep it cool!

MEETING
EXPECTATIONS

On June 15, we officially started at Liberty Global with Hospitality, Barista and Cleaning on the 12th and 13th floors of The Pulse of Amsterdam in the Zuidas.

Expectations from headquarters in London were high, and D&B's promises were grand. So, there was a lot at stake. After months of preparation, construction work, planning, and a search for the perfect team, we got to show what we are good at on June 15. And not to pat ourselves on the back, but everything looked so beautiful and perfect! Hostesses Jet and Soraya made an impression and ensured the employees felt right at home immediately. The barista team had prepared special breakfasts and learned in no time exactly how everyone likes their coffee.

The client was full of praise. Especially when the D&B marketing team came up with a solution for a window that had been broken during the renovation. Within a few days, a print of the view appeared on it, featuring indications of all the landmarks visible on the horizon. All in all, a great example of the power of D&B: Teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm.

CAN YOU
KICK IT?

Okay, okay... we're out of the World Cup. But that doesn't mean you can't become champions with your favorite club anymore! And by that, we mean the D&B football club, which is naturally participating in the Zuidas Cup again.

This year, we have once again registered a men's team and a mixed men's and women's team for the Zuidas Cup tournament on September 18, and you can sign up now for a spot in the starting lineup.

If playing football isn't quite your thing, come cheer them on while enjoying a drink and a snack.

www.dbcultureclub.nl/zuidas-cup-2026

Please note: there is a limited number of spots available. Additionally, we aim for a good balance between women, men, services, and headquarters. Are you scheduled during the tournament? Then check with the planning department to see if you can be removed from the schedule.

This means that your registration must be confirmed first.

ARE YOU READY
TO PARTY?

Grab your calendar and a big marker. Flip to November 27 and write: D&B Chill-out Drinks! If you have ever experienced a D&B drinks event or party, you know that they don't do things by halves.

The roof came off

Naturally, the D&B Culture Club has given careful thought to the location, and yes, it is Amstelveen again. The rooftop terrace of the D&B office has been completely removed and replaced. It is now even better suited for a party. Transportation is being arranged for people from other parts of the country.

For everyone

The drinks event is a follow-up to the successful ski trip earlier this year. We actually believe that the best part of our Chill-out ski trip should be accessible to everyone. Namely, the après-ski!

So mark November 27 in your calendar and keep an eye on the updates, because this promises to be another blast!

WE CANTEEN
LAUNCH LUNCH
REPORT

June 25th was a special day for We Canteen. Behind the scenes, hard work has been done over the past two years to refine the We Canteen concept and put it back on the map.

In other words: how do we distinguish ourselves? And how are we going to communicate and show that to the market?

At our newest location, 'Liberty Offices', opposite the Johan Cruijff ArenA, several We Canteen chefs demonstrated and let people taste that We Canteen cooks restaurant-worthy dishes. That We Canteen is therefore about fresh preparation on location and real cooking. That with us, everything revolves around surprising international dishes and that everything we do is custom-made. And that we understand very well what real estate wants and how we add value to a building.

The turnout was generous, despite the very hot weather, and the menu was adjusted to this at the last minute. Because that, too, is We Canteen: being able to respond quickly to needs and being creative in solutions.

From now on, all new We Canteen locations and, step by step, all existing ones will be converted to the new concept. More fresh food experience, more visible hospitality, more international dishes, and more customization.

FORMULA 1
WINNERS!

Do you remember? In the previous newsletter, we made it very easy for you to win one of the two tickets for the F1 at Zandvoort this year. The only thing we ask in return as D&B Culture Club is that you make a short vlog.

We noticed how many people didn't see the promotion in the May newsletter. That is a shame, of course, because if you are an F1 fan, you are missing out big time. From the people who did see the promotion and sent an email, we have drawn two winners. Watch the video and discover which two D&B members will meet at the gates of the Zandvoort Circuit on August 21st!

MEMBER PROFILE:
AEYESSA KUIPERS

Who doesn't know her? Aeyessa Kuipers has become a familiar face and one of the driving forces behind We Canteen. But who is she, really?

Aeyessa was born in 1990 in Peize, Drenthe. Thanks to her Surinamese mother, she inherited her South American roots and charisma. After her parents' divorce, she moved to Uithoorn at the age of seven.

As a child, dancing was central to her life. Jazz and modern dance were her great passion, and she dreamed of attending the Lucia Marthas Dance Academy. Ultimately, she chose the Hotel Management School in Amsterdam, followed by an internship and a job at the Sheraton Hotel at Schiphol.

At the age of 21, she left for Washington D.C. for a year and a half, where she gained experience at the international top of the hotel industry at the W Hotel. It was a special period, during which she had to temporarily leave her sick mother—for whom she is a caregiver—behind.

Nowadays, Aeyessa lives with her boyfriend, whom she met during her time at Vermaat. And there is even better news: they are expecting their first child in October!

Folklore Exotica

In addition to her work, Aeyessa organizes events with her mother, through the Folklore Exotica Foundation, where traditional clothing from various cultures takes center stage.
Behind every outfit lies a unique story. From Ukraine to Brazil and from Indonesia to Namibia.

Curious? Then come to the MAMJO Festival in Uithoorn on July 25. Admission is free, and you can enjoy delicious food, music, and colorful stalls. Be sure to ask Aeyessa what Mamjo means in Surinamese!

REMEMBER
THIS

There is a wealth of surprising talent hidden among our colleagues. You only need to strike up a good conversation and ask curious questions. Before you know it, you will discover unique hobbies, creative passions, and inspiring stories.

Meet Bernice. She has been working as a Hospitality Hostess at Danone in Hoofddorp for five years now and has been part of the D&B family for over a year. Hospitality runs in Bernice's blood. She attended Hotel Management School, specializing in Tourism, and interned at the Marriott in Florida. There, she learned the tricks of the trade.

After returning to the Netherlands, she temporarily changed course. She went on to study English Language and Literature at Leiden University. Yet, the world of Hospitality continued to beckon. During her studies, she worked in various hotels, and after graduating, she started working as a Quality Controller at the EMEA call center of InterContinental Hotels Group.

When her second child was born and required extra care due to health issues, Bernice decided to put her career on hold temporarily. However, sitting still was never her strong suit. From home, she started an embroidery business, a styling business, and even a tableware rental company. Creativity and entrepreneurship have always been a common thread in her life.

When her youngest turned eighteen, there was room again to work outside the home. Back among people, back in the hospitality industry. That is how she ended up at Danone. A new creative passion also emerged there. Bernice started designing earrings, including in D&B colors, specifically for colleagues. And anyone who knows Bernice knows that she does nothing by halves. She works exclusively with high-quality Japanese Miyuki beads, designs her patterns largely herself, and every pair is handmade. Time-consuming? Certainly. But the result is impressive. Under the name Beads Me Studio, her work can also be found on Instagram and TikTok (search for @beadsme.studio).

Win a set!

Do you want to win a unique set of earrings? We can immediately test whether you paid close attention during your onboarding. Send an email to cultureclub@db.nl and tell us in which year D&B was founded. We are raffling off four sets of handmade Miyuki earrings by Bernice among the correct entries. Good luck!

YOUR 15 MINUTES
FOR HOSPITALITY

Learning doesn't just happen in a classroom. It is precisely on the job that you make the difference. Just look at the Cleaning team at WTC Amsterdam, where they are working systematically to create an even better guest experience.

Every month, colleagues gather for 15 minutes immediately after the morning break for a Hospitality Moment. Led by Claudia Biswana and the cleaning coordinators, they discuss how service can be improved a little bit every day.

Last Thursday, the work cart took center stage. After all, it is also part of the guest experience. This was followed by on-the-job coaching, with one thought-provoking question as the starting point: “What are you doing today to take hospitality within your team to the next level?”

STATER &
SBM OFFSHORE

And here are a few EPIC posts from two different locations:

Stater in Amersfoort: As of July 1, 2026, our partnership has been extended by five years. Since 2018, we have been providing total facility services. Thanks to close collaboration, great flexibility, and a continuous focus on improvement, we are continuing to build together on a service that aligns with Stater's wishes. We are proud of the trust Stater is once again placing in us. A huge compliment to our on-site team, which dedicates itself to this every day with great enthusiasm. See photo.

SBM Offshore in Rotterdam is growing. And we are growing with it. Things are going well for SBM Offshore in Rotterdam, and that is visible: the office is expanding further. And our partnership is growing along with it. In addition to expanding our catering services, we are now also providing security. With this, we now provide all facility services at this location, and SBM Offshore has grown into a true Multi Service Strong location. A great step that we are proud of!

ALLEO:
BENEFIT FROM IT

Have you created an account with Alleo yet? Even if you have opted for extra vacation days, you can choose from a variety of discounts at Alleo. Simply because you work at D&B. Once again, we have highlighted a few that might come in handy in the coming period:

Plastic... Not so fantastic

At least... Not when it is floating in the ocean. No idea what to do with your Alleo credit? Then you can choose from a number of charities at Alleo, including The Ocean Cleanup. Every year, millions of tons of plastic end up in the oceans, and if no action is taken, this will increasingly harm our ecosystem and health. You can choose donations from €1 to €50. Look under the 'Market' section at 'Charities' for 'The Ocean Cleanup'.

Koalia? Where is that located?

In Ouwehands Zoo. This is the Koala enclosure. But you also have giant pandas, giraffes, and monkeys here. With this Alleo 'Promo', you get a whopping 20% discount on a ticket. Check the terms and conditions and many other discounts under the 'Promos' section in 'Experiences' and scroll to 'Ouwehands Zoo'.

Be sure to also check out all the other benefits in Alleo. You log in with your D&B Microsoft account.

FOUR
NUMBERS

In every newsletter, we will focus on four numbers that mean something to us. This way, you will gain an increasingly better understanding of our direction and impact. In this case, all the numbers refer to our 'remote host' at ASML.

3

There are now 3 Remote Host locations live at ASML. At locations 70, 7, and 8, guests and employees are welcomed not only by the live host but also by our remote Host from the studio built at ASML.

6

The Remote Host team consists of 6 top performers, led by Lars Horevoort. Namely: Yuan Bozelie, Lisa van Dorst, Karine van Herwijnen, Fleur ten Have, Raiza Chedi, and Ilse Wouters. They rotate the Remote Host service and together ensure the further development of our Remote Hospitality services. Together, they are at the start of an innovation that will offer many opportunities for us and ASML! #proud of the team.

1115

That is how many badges have been issued across the three locations in 5 months.
Since this week, we have a dashboard that tracks the data, giving us insight into how the Remote Host performs at each location. This includes the number of calls, the duration of a call, and the off-peak and peak times when remote reception is used. We are very happy with this!

20.000

That is how many extra workspaces will be realized at the new ASML BIC Noord campus within the next 3 years. ASML is working on the future and is expanding significantly with new buildings. This means that we will grow significantly with our Hospitality and Security services. In terms of jobs, but also through the use of technology. ASML is pre-eminently a company that embraces innovation, which is why the Remote Host will play an important role in this!

Interested in even more market figures? Or would you like to know more about The Remote Host? You can contact Melissa Kooke.

ALL EYES ON...
THE OR

What does the OR actually do?
It is a question we receive regularly. And let's be honest: the OR is often most visible when there is an issue at hand. But even when things seem quiet, we certainly aren't sitting still.

The OR is there for all colleagues at D&B. We contribute ideas on topics that influence our work and our work environment. Think of organizational developments, working conditions, employment terms, and significant policy changes. We ask questions, provide advice, and represent the interests of employees. Not to block change, but rather to contribute ideas and build a healthy, future-proof organization together.

What are we currently working on?
In the background, we are continuously working on various topics. For instance, we are currently working on:

  • updating our OR regulations;

  • further professionalizing the OR;

  • preparing advisory and consent processes that affect the organization;

  • and expanding our OR team.

Additionally, we believe it is important to be more visible and accessible to all colleagues. Because the better we know what is going on within the organization, the better we can fulfill our role.

Your voice counts!
Do you have an idea, a question, or a topic that you think the OR should look into? Let us know! It is precisely the feedback from colleagues that helps us discuss the topics that are truly important.

You can easily find the OR via AFAS InSite. There you can read more about who we are, what we are working on, and how to contact us. AFAS InSite – Ondernemingsraad

We are looking for new OR members!
To remain a good reflection of D&B, we are urgently looking for enthusiastic colleagues from various disciplines. Visit www.dbcultureclub.nl/thehappycrew or send us a message via AFAS InSite.

Because you build a strong organization together. And we need everyone for that.
