In this final newsletter of the year, we, The D&B Culture Club, wish everyone a wonderful December and a happy New Year. And what a year it has been! The launch of the new Multi-Service Organization, the arrival of HR in our management team through a CPO (Chief People Officer), the first D&B Employee Day on June 8th, and of course, the arrival of this newsletter, which, thankfully, most of you read with enthusiasm.

WELCOME
Our motto. Proposition. Payoff. Promise to the market. Whatever you call it, I'll count it all. But what do we actually mean by that?
First of all, hospitality is in our DNA. By "more than welcome," we don't just mean "no thanks, we're happy to do it," but even: "we're more than happy to do it."
This line literally refers to our services. We do more than just welcome people. We provide reception services, security, food and beverages, cleaning, and mobility, but always with hospitality as our starting point.
And you, as an employee and D&B member, are, of course, also more than welcome at our club. That's our promise, and that's what we stand for.

NEW SUCCESSES
IN THREE CITIES
Once again, we have some great successes to report, in three different cities:
RIV (Rotterdam)
The name might not ring a bell, but when we tell you it's the EY office on the Maas River, in the heart of Rotterdam, it'll definitely ring a bell. Right between the Erasmus Bridge and the Willems Bridge.
Here, we launched with hospitality, a coffee bar, the food court, and cleaning services. We can safely say, a beautiful multi-service location!
2Amsterdam (Amsterdam)
Located in the heart of Amsterdam's Zuidas business district. Starting January 1st, we will be providing both hospitality and security at this EPIC location. This further strengthens our strong position in the Zuidas business district!
Wonderwoods (Utrecht)
Wonderwoods is being built right next to the Jaarbeurs and Utrecht Central Station. A green icon, recognizable by its hanging gardens, trees, and lush green facades. We'll be opening our Loaf coffee bar and hospitality concept on the ground floor later this year.

Presenting with your body
Are you already aware of your body language or nonverbal communication? And that it is just as important as your presentation itself? Posture, gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, and tone of voice: they largely determine how you come across. This applies not only to presentations but also to all other communication, including your interactions with guests.

We, the D&B Works Council (OR), would like to thank Jeroen Duvekot for his participation in the Works Council. With his recent departure, a spot in our "Happy Crew" has opened up for... you?
The Works Council is the part within D&B that represents the interests of all D&B employees. This means you'll have a seat at the table with the management of our wonderful company and participate in decisions on important issues. Think of employment conditions, equal treatment, and pay!

MEMBER PROFILE:
ANTHONY TORSOH
In this edition, we meet Anthony Torsoh.
What's in a name? Well, he certainly has a large torso, but more on that later…
Anthony has been working as a Hospitality Host at the Nederlandse Waterschapbank (NWB Bank) in The Hague for three years now. A unique bank in the public sector, with a strong focus on water and sustainability.
Anthony's family roots lie in Suriname. His grandfather was of Chinese-Javanese descent, and his parents moved to the Netherlands in 1979. Anthony himself and his three brothers were born here. For those wondering: Anthony is the third in line :)
When we ask him about his hobbies, he immediately lights up. "Absolutely! Board games and sports — those are my passions." And that's no exaggeration. Anthony plays board games at a high level. Not Monopoly or Ludo, but games like Scythe and Palladins of the West Kingdom. For those in the know: these are true strategy games that require some serious practice.
As a tip for beginners, Anthony recommends Potion Explosion: "A mix of Candy Crush and Harry Potter, and quite addictive," he laughs.
Anthony previously worked as a gym manager at MN Services. There, he came into contact with D&B, which also provided hospitality services. During the pandemic, gyms were the first to close, and that's how he came to join D&B.
But his sports blood is thicker than water: Anthony has now been active as a CrossFit coach for two years and has specialized in Olympic weightlifting. And that explains his... torso!
He concludes with an inspiring message:
"Don't underestimate your value and importance. Whatever role you play — you are important, and someone people should and want to be able to rely on."
MILA
GRAZIE!
We're pleased to introduce our new recruitment colleague, Mila Koster. Mila will primarily focus on the hospitality and security streams, but will also provide support in other streams as needed. Mila works on behalf of our recruitment partner, De Selectie, in our recruitment team:
Hi! I'm Mila, and I'll be joining the D&B recruitment team starting in November. I studied Global Project and Change Management, writing my thesis on employee vitality and sustainable employment practices.
I've been working at De Selectie since 2022, where I'm involved in everything from engaging job descriptions and searches to employer branding and EVP projects.
I've been happily living in Utrecht since the beginning of this year. I also teach Body Pump in my free time and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and collaborating on exciting projects. See you soon!
MOVIE NIGHT
WAS A BLOCKBUSTER AGAIN!
That's all Folks!
The D&B Movie Night was once again a huge success — so every reason to keep this event going!
This time, you couldn't vote for the film, but you could guess which one it would be. Stephanie (HR), Kim, and Michelle (We Canteen) got it right and won prizes. Kim also correctly guessed the follow-up question in the audience and won a real autograph from Channing Tatum. And Channing just happens to be one of her idols!
Chef Stephania and her team provided the fresh pizzas; the popcorn popped, the drinks flowed, and everyone was intently enjoying the film. It was wonderful to see how colleagues got to know each other beforehand and exchanged stories about the various locations where we work.
We don't know yet what the next film will be. But one thing is certain: we're going to do everything we can to make it a fantastic event!

WINNERS
VITALITY WEEK!
From September 22nd to 28th, D&B was fully dedicated to National Vitality Week. For five days, we worked together on our mental and physical well-being, because feeling good about yourself truly makes a world of difference.
To raise awareness of vitality in an accessible and fun way, we introduced D&Bingo: ten mini-challenges you could complete at your own pace. From a short walk to taking a moment to reflect on your energy. Small actions with a big impact.
We received a huge number of completed bingo cards. It was wonderful to see so many colleagues actively participating. Thank you for all your dedication and positive energy!
